[Infographic] The Shocking Numbers Behind Delhi’s Polluted Air

It’s common knowledge that Delhi is now one of the world’s most polluted cities but this infographic from Times of India hits home just how harmful the poisonous air is.

Some of the alarming facts include:

  • PM2.5 particles, the most harmful type of particle as they can enter your bloodstream and damage your organs, is as much as 10 times the safe standard on severe smog days.
  • Delhi has 82 lakh vehicles on the road which is more than Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata put together.
  • Compared to Beijing, once recognized as the most polluted city in the world, Delhi has taken no action to reduce the pollution in the city
  • India has no policies on the emissions from power plants

You don’t have to needlessly suffer though. An air purifier like the Philips AC4025 for the bedroom or the Philips AC4072 for larger rooms can at least make your home a safe place to be.
